Privacy Notice
This notice explains how Bilora Events handles personal information submitted through this website and through event registration.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the website, Bilora may collect your name, email address, telephone number, organisation, enquiry details, event registration details, ticket selections, communication preferences and payment-related references. Bilora does not receive or store your M-Pesa PIN.
Why we use the information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, administer registrations, process and reconcile payments, issue tickets, communicate important event information, support attendance and check-in, maintain business records and, where you have opted in, send occasional Bilora event or partnership updates.
Payments
When M-Pesa payment is enabled, the website sends the payment request to Safaricom's Daraja service and receives transaction status information needed to confirm the booking. Your M-Pesa PIN is entered on your phone and is not handled by Bilora's website.
Marketing choices
Promotional communication is optional. Operational messages needed to deliver a ticket or communicate material information about an event you registered for are separate from marketing messages. You may unsubscribe from promotional communication using an unsubscribe link supplied in such messages or by contacting Bilora.
How long we keep information
Bilora keeps information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, event administration, financial or legal record-keeping, dispute handling and the management of communication preferences. Records that are no longer required should be securely removed or anonymised where appropriate.
Sharing and service providers
Information may be shared only where necessary with service providers used to operate the website, process payments or deliver communications, or where disclosure is required by law. Bilora does not sell personal information collected through this website to advertisers.
Your rights
Subject to applicable Kenyan data-protection law, you may ask about personal information Bilora holds about you and request appropriate access, correction, restriction, objection or deletion where those rights apply. You may also withdraw optional marketing consent.
Cookies and sessions
BEMP uses strictly necessary session cookies for security and website functionality. The current deployment does not rely on advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies. If analytics or other non-essential tracking is introduced later, this notice and the consent approach should be reviewed before that tracking is enabled.
